The Mission Committee Mandate:
…to oversee the education of the congregation about the mission of Jesus, locally, nationally, and globally, and to involve the congregation in that mission.
If it is clearly within the mandate of the committee, creative suggestions for new emerging mission ministries should be encouraged.
Important dates to keep in mind.
NIAGARA GRAPE & WINE FESTIVAL PARADE BBQ
For the past 13 years, Knox Church has been represented during the Grape & Wine Parade by the members of the Mission Committee who host its annual barbecue along with volunteers from the congregation. Please feel free to join us on Saturday, September 23rd, starting at 10 am. Everyone is invited to support this worthy project.
THANKSGIVING FOOD OFFERING
On Thanksgiving Sunday, October 8th, you are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item, all of which will be collected and given to Community Care. There was a good response to this last year.
A Harvest Roast Beef Dinner sponsored by the Mission Committee is planned for Saturday, October 21th at 6 pm. Tickets will be on sale in the next few weeks. Adults: $20, Children (12 yrs. & under):$15. Proceeds will go to local mission projects.
INVITE A FRIEND SUNDAY
The Mission Committee has designated Sunday, October 29th, as our next Invite-A-Friend Sunday, an opportunity for Knox people to invite someone they know who doesn’t attend a church regularly to join them for the Worship Service and fellowship time following. Printed Invitations will be provided prior to October 29th. We are committed to creating an invitational culture at Knox by reaching out to the non-church people within our community. A good place to begin is with those who are known to us. People very often respond to a personal invitation. You are encouraged to do this on a regular basis, not just on designated Sundays.
