Minister: Dr. Clyde Ervine was raised in a hectic Presbyterian home in Northern Ireland, one of four siblings who indulged in the banging of pianos, doors and egos! He was educated at the University of St. Andrew’s, the University of Cambridge, and Presbyterian College, Montreal. Clyde was ordained in Cornwall, Ontario, in 1980. Since then he has pastored in Sutton, Niagara Falls, Toronto, Hamilton, and now Knox. He also spent six years as a professor at his old alma mater, Presbyterian College, Montreal. Over the years, Clyde has been active in the life of the national church, and currently teaches one course at Knox College, Toronto. He has published a number of articles both popular and theological, and is currently working on what he hopes to publish as a book, dealing with respect in ministry.
Committed in principle and practice to the priority of the congregation in God’s mission, Clyde focuses on congregational preaching, teaching and leadership. He loves to read, attend concerts and plays, walking the dog, watching tennis, or just recovering!
